Arsenic Poisoning is caused when a cat ingests snail bait, ant poisons, insecticides or a rodent that has been poisoned with arsenic. Arsenic is also found in many other chemical compounds.
Symptoms of Arsenic Poisoning
Symptoms of Arsenic Poisoning will be sudden and may include vomiting, drooling, thirst, cramps, diarrhea, stomach pain and death. The cat’s breath can have a strong garlic smell. The arsenic poison works fast and death can occur before symptoms are seen.
Treatments for Arsenic Poisoning
If you observe the first symptoms of Arsenic Poisoning or view your cat eating a substance with arsenic, induce vomiting. Immediately take your cat to the vet or local pet clinic for the specific antidote for arsenic poisoning.
