General information on Ear Mites
Ear Mites are a very common problem for cats and kittens. The tiny mites live in the ear canal and once they present in large numbers, they will cause irritation for the cat.
Symptoms of Ear Mites
Symptoms of Ear Mites include dark brown earwax with odor and persistent scratching of the ears.
Treatments for Ear Mites
Your vet will need to check the cats ears with an otoscope to confirm the presence of the ear mites. Eardrops may be prescribed and if there are any other cats or dogs in the house, they will also need to be treated.
